Focusing Through the Lens: Week 37

Hello my lovelies! Here we are at week 37 of my weekly series. This week we are going to visit Lake Catherine State Park. Well to be honest, I visited here a couple of weeks ago. Right now I am unable to explore due to an injury but hopefully soon I will be able to get out. However, our trip along a hiking trail at Lake Catherine State Park will still be fun! So grab your water container (never forget your water), hiking shoes, map, and see what is focusing through the lens. Thank you for coming on our trip. I can’t wait to hear what you think about this trip. If you liked anything please share. Until our next adventure, y’all be careful and get out and see what is out there.

Focusing Through the Lens: Week 36

Here we are at a new week. Late last week, I asked for help for places to go check out in Arkansas and I had some great recommendations. Plus a dear friend sent me an email of a list of places to go see. I am excited to go visit and share these places with y’all! However, this week we are staying in SW Arkansas since this was Glitter and myself’s first solo trip. So grab your jacket, comfy shoes and let’s see what is focusing through the lens this week. Thank you for taking this little trip with us. We had a blast enjoying our first solo trip and hoping you will join on us on many more we take. Which of the pictures this week grabbed your attention? Or is there something you would like to see in an upcoming post? Share with me in the comments!

Focusing Through the Lens: Week 35

Well hello again friends! I am back!! The Fall here in Arkansas has been showing off this year and we are on week two or three of it. Let me tell you, I am here for it! We have been enjoying the cooler weather and finding all the pumpkins. So today, let’s go on walk through a pumpkin area and see what is focusing through the lens this week. Thank you for coming to look at pumpkins with me! Fall is one of my favorite season and we are trying to enjoy this long Fall we are getting this year. Are you Fall fan? Or sad because Summer is over? Are you a fan of pumpkins? Let’s get social in the comments!

38th Year of Adventures: Putting my Pictures out there

So Today is the day! I teased you yesterday about doing 38 things that I have wanted to make happen and today is the perfect day to start it out since today is my birthday! I want to start this off by sharing about how I started out in photography. I have always loved to take photographs but not be in them. I remember when I was little our neighbor had a Polaroid camera and we took some pictures with it. In fact, I still have two of the photos in my picture box. I was amazed by how with the click of a button, you can capture a moment forever on film. As I grew older, disposable film cameras became popular. I can’t tell you how many I used over the years and how many photos did and didn’t come out. But the joy of pressing the button and waiting for the pictures is some close to Christmas day as a child. When I got my first Digital camera, I thought this is the best I will have. However, since that first purchase, I have been able to own a few more and continue to grow in my learning of what makes a good photograph. I have also found I like to photograph the beauty in everyday life. This could be anything from flowers to cows to sunsets. Finally, I wanted to share I have opened an Etsy store to sell my prints (for now). I have only opened it with a limited number of prints to see how this will go. Please go check it out and if you see one you might want to grab it. There will only be 8 offered at this time. I do have plans for a poster print of an old barn which should be added this week Here is the link. Don’t wait, get yours before they are gone.

Early Birthday Announcement

Just like every year, birthdays roll around and I have always just marked them as days on the calendar. This year I thought I would try and do something different. This past year has been a hard one for all of us in one form or another. I wanted to do something different this year to help change my mind-set and do new things. So this year I am doing 38 new things for my 38th year. These things may be small things but they will be things I have have been wanting to do or things new to me. I hope you will join me through out the next year on this adventure. In true Alicia fashion, I am going to be sharing my first thing tomorrow to start the year out right. This is something you don’t want to miss out on. I will give you a hint: Limited goods will be available starting tomorrow for a short time. I am off to make the last minute adjustments for the first big reveal!!

Welcome to Week 34 of Focusing Through the Lens! I am so excited to have you here. Are you ready for a trip through the water and forest? Grab your water shoes or boots (if it is cold) and let’s go see what is coming through the lens. Thank you for coming on our trip through part of the Ouachita National Forest. This is somewhere we hope to go find more adventures since it is so big. There are a few places to camp primitive or with some electricity/water. Have you been here or have plans to visit? Did any of these pictures peak your interest? Let me know in the comments.

Focusing Through the Lens: Week 33

Here we are on week 33 of Focusing Through the Lens. Last weekend, Hubby and I were child free and decided to go on an adventure all by ourselves. We also wanted to go back to a rock/crystal store in Mt. Ida. On our way back I asked him to stop and go check out the brown sign. If you are not familiar with brown signs, don’t worry. Here in Arkansas there are brown signs on highways sharing interesting things to go see. So let’s grab our exploring shoes, water bottles and get going. Thank you for coming along on our adventure this past weekend. If you are enjoying the Focusing Through the Lens series, I hope you will share with a friend or out on social. I want to take you also for showing up every week to check out what I love to do! Until next adventure!

Focusing Through The Lens: Week 32

Hey y’all! I know it has been a couple of weeks since our last adventure. I am deeply sorry about missing these last two weeks. My day job has jumped into full swing but hopefully it will swing back down into a lull. I have been going on mini adventures while being gone from online. So today let us celebrate this last little bit of Summer and go play in some water. Grab your river shoes (shoes you can wear in the water), a towel and let’s see what is focusing through the lens this week. Southwest Arkansas has been showing out this last bit of Summer we have gotten to enjoy. The sounds of crickets, water and warm sunsets are slowing fading into memory. There are still a few weeks we will get to enjoy this however there are little signs of Fall creeping upon us. I have noticed a lot more leaves starting to make the change and fall into the water. The sunsets are getting earlier and earlier but we are still chasing them. As Fall comes on (hopefully more than a week this year), we will be coming back and photographing the river in all it’s Fall glory. Have you been enjoying the last of Summer? Played in any creeks/rivers? Let’s share our adventures together!

However, until those changes happen, here is a link to one of my favorites. So let’s get our comfy shoes on, grab a drink, and let’s get sharing. I am dreaming of Fall right now and lots of rain storms. The temps here have been hot and like most people I am ready for a break! Thank you for coming on our trip to see what is focusing through the lens this week. I am already working on next week and a little surprise for y’all. Until next time.

Focusing Through the Lens: Week 30

This week is going to be a little different with photos. Usually I shoot with my trusty Canon Rebel t6 but this past week, I didn’t really use my camera. Hubby and I ran away to celebrate 14 years of being married and even though the camera was with us, I didn’t really get it out much. Which means this weeks pictures will be the ones I got with my iphone. Now, don’t hate on them yet. They aren’t bad but wanted to give you a heads up. So let’s jump in the getaway and see what is focusing through my lens! I hope you have enjoyed what has been focusing through my lens. I have enjoyed sharing with y’all. Are you a Fall fan? Or have you been to the Petit Jean Coffee house yet? Let’s get social in the comments and don’t forget to share this to social media!
